The notifications. The calendar. The endless scroll. The pressure to produce, perform and keep up. We live in a world that never pauses, and neither do we. Until something breaks.
Surrounded
by people.
Still feeling
alone.
You go out. You stay in. You make plans and cancel them. You fill your evenings with things that should feel good: bars, clubs, dinners. But they leave you somehow emptier than when you arrived.
The problem isn't that there's nothing to do. It's that almost everything revolves around alcohol, noise and the pressure to always be on: interesting, available, performing.
Somewhere underneath all of it is a quieter need: to just be with other people, without pretence. To slow down inside your own body. To feel genuinely at rest.
Heat has always been how humans come back to themselves.
For thousands of years, across every culture, the bathhouse was where community happened naturally. No agenda. No performance. Just warmth, water, and time.
SOKI is a new kind of sauna space in Utrecht that fuses wellness with culture, music and community. A hidden oasis just beyond the city limits, where you can step inside and leave the noise behind.
Not a silent, anonymous spa. Not a luxury wellness club. Something much more human: a living, breathing venue where you can sweat, relax and also discover art, talks, DJ sets or small performances.
Without loud music and alcohol, but with warmth, atmosphere, soft sounds and real encounters. A place you can also visit on a Friday night with friends, or on your own, to unwind, connect and recharge.
We're Luke and Tobias. We met eight years ago during an internship in the events industry and have been close friends ever since. Luke has a background as a calisthenics trainer and tour manager. Tobias works as a marketing manager with roots in hospitality.
Together we've seen how art, music and human connection can help people thrive. But we've also seen how nightlife so often revolves around alcohol and other substances, leaving people more depleted than when they arrived.
In London, Berlin and Copenhagen, a new generation of sauna spaces is proving there's another way. We wanted to bring that spirit to Utrecht, in our own way. To turn the sauna into a new form of socialising.
We also want to make a positive social impact. Keeping sessions affordable and creating space for groups who don't always feel at home in traditional wellness environments. Our goal: a place where everyone feels welcome.

Luke & Tobias, founders of SOKI
Our mission is to make sauna sessions and cold plunges affordable for everyone in Utrecht. Not a luxury, but a shared experience of wellbeing and community.
A living, breathing venue where you can sweat, relax and also discover art, talks, DJ sets and small performances. The sauna is the backdrop, not the limit.
A substance-free environment where real encounters happen naturally. In a hyper-connected world, we're building space for actual presence, whether you arrive alone or with friends.
We uphold a clear safer spaces policy: respect diversity, practise consent, keep communication respectful and share space considerately. Everyone is welcome here, and we mean it.
